Have you ever rearranged your furniture? Sometimes, everything goes according to plan, and it’s great. Sure, you will likely find more dust than you expected, and you might wonder exactly how your favorite spatula ended up behind the recliner chair. It’s messy, slightly inconvenient, but mostly doable.
But then there are those times where the leg is irreparably broken off the table that is a family heirloom, and a hard-to-maneuver couch leaves Uncle Elmer with a cast on his foot for six weeks.
Recently, we experienced such a fiasco while moving our figurative furniture as part of our website redesign. No worries! None of our team ended up with broken bones. However, you may have noticed our podcast feed suffered a few bumps and bruises in the process.
It’s possible that if you’re using an iOS or Android device, you haven’t experienced any difficulty. You are more likely to see duplicate podcasts and a generally chaotic feed if you are using a portable book reader such as the Victor Reader Stream or Blaze EZ / ET, or a PC-based program like QCast.
Here’s what you can do to make your podcast downloading and listening experience as smooth as possible. If you find that you delete our most recent podcast, only to have it show up again and again like some alternate version of the movie “Groundhog day,” the best thing you can do for now is nothing. Leave the most recent podcast there, and it shouldn’t keep trying to download a new one, because it is already there. Please be patient with us, and we’ll do our best.
And here’s what we are doing. We’re hard at work fixing the original problem. We have decided that it’s best to hold off releasing any more podcasts until the problem is fixed. This shouldn’t be more than a few weeks, and we’ll be sure to let you know when we’ve released our next one.
If you want to help while we’re doing all this moving, there is something you can do to help everything go smoothly. While we’d love the customary “Welcome to the Neighborhood” cakes, casseroles, or other goodies, they don’t transport via email so well. What we would love for you to do is to spread the news to friends who receive our podcasts, but who maybe won’t see this page. Then, be in touch with those friends again when the problem is fixed, and let them know. Want to be sure you know when the fix occurs? We encourage you to sign up for our newsletter, where we will announce that happy news right away. We won’t flood your email inbox, and we make every attempt to ensure that we’re sending information you can use.
No one likes it when there’s furniture in unfamiliar places, and everything seems off-kilter, so why do we put ourselves through it? Because it’s our hope that the end result will be more than worth it. Hang in there with us, and we hope you’ll agree!
We appreciate your patronage, and we thank you for being a listener!
