We can Call Jenny

We can’t believe we’ve reached the final podcast of the year. We begin this last annual edition by announcing our January 2021 free event. This one is all about the Evo E10 DAISY media player. We’ve already created a basic demo for this innovative little device, available from the above-linked product page, but this event will go further in depth about its benefits and features, and give you an opportunity to ask questions. The Evo offers a few cool features rarely seen on other DAISY players, and also has great sound-quality for its size. While it has some drawbacks, which are discussed in the basic demo, Chris actually likes it so much that it’s replaced his Book Port Plus as his player of choice. We’d love to have you join us on January 28 for the event. All relevant info will be sent to our Events mailing list.

For those of you who have used the QCast podcast client in the past, we’re pleased to announce that our podcast once again plays perfectly on it. For those who haven’t used QCast, Chris provides a demo of this versatile software for PC and Mac. While this is a paid product, a free trial is available.

Have you ever been in need of an accessible solution to find TV listings? We found one for you at TVTV.us. As long as you know the name of the channel you’re seeking listings for, this website should be able to help you find it. And, of course, since it’s a website, it’s completely cross-platform.

Kim provides a look at the Alexa skill for the RadioTunes.com music service. This site contains 90 channels of curated music in many genres. A free version is available to listen to via the app, but to get the highest music quality and to be able to use the skill, you’ll need a premium subscription. Kim explains other benefits of upgrading to premium, as well.

One thing that has always impressed us about RadioTunes is its accessibility across platforms. It’s available for iOS, Fire OS, and Android, and Kim gives a quick look at the Android app.

We want to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your support during this insane year. You can’t imagine how much we appreciate it. Let’s say good-bye to 2020, and welcome in a hopefully far brighter 2021. Talk to you all in the new year!
